Trust advances rental assistance and home repair programs

Shrewsbury Housing Trust formalizes $150,000 rental assistance program for local households. The Trust formalized a $150,000 rental assistance program combining $112,500 in Community Preservation Committee funding with $37,500 from the Trust itself, approved at the May 18 Town Meeting. The program will assist approximately 25 households at $500 per household through a qualified third-party consultant, with an application window running September through November and disbursements beginning December or January.

The Trust is also advancing an Affordable Home Repair Program with Habitat for Humanity, targeting 4-6 households at approximately $20,000 per household. Vice Chair Beth Shea Bryant announced she will not seek reappointment after five years of service.
