Housing Trust refines rental assistance program, appoints steering representative

Shrewsbury Affordable Housing Trust advances rental assistance program, appoints new steering representative. The Trust, with Chair Martha Gannon, Clerk Carlos Garcia, and Member Beth Casavant present, refined policy for a proposed rental assistance program targeting households earning at or below 60 percent of Area Median Income, with a capacity of approximately 25 households. The Affordable Home Repair Program, a partnership with Habitat for Humanity, is capped at $120,000 for up to six households.

The Trust unanimously appointed Ms. Casavant as the board's representative to the town's Master Plan steering committee.
