Trust Approves $18,000 for Elizabeth Street Project Planning

Shrewsbury Affordable Housing Trust approves $18,000 reallocation for Elizabeth Street project planning. The Housing Authority, led by Kathy McSweeney and Richard Ricker, requested permission to reallocate previously approved funds from an existing conditions study and field testing toward establishing a 501(c) nonprofit entity and hiring an architect to revise development plans for Richland Road. The Trust voted unanimously in favor, with no additional funding to be requested beyond the approved amount.
In separate business, the Trust reviewed a parcel prioritization analysis prepared by the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, scoring five town-owned parcels on environmental, transportation, and social factors; 210 North Quinsigamond and 31 Cypress Avenue emerged as top candidates for potential affordable housing development.
