Shrewsbury COA Details Free Paratransit Van Service Rules for Seniors
SHREWSBURY — April 8, 2026 — Shrewsbury's Council on Aging released an instructional video on paratransit van service for residents 60 and older and disabled riders. Transportation Coordinator Cynthia Willis explained that trips must be booked through PBSTM — Paratransit Brokers Service Transit Management, a WRTA division — at 508-792-9283 either seven days ahead or the day before, and that fares are currently free until further notice. ADA-certified riders must schedule a separate eligibility appointment in Worcester by calling extension 3. Willis warned that repeated no-shows within a 30-day period can result in loss of service, that drivers wait only five minutes at pickup, and that drivers may not assist riders on stairs or across streets. Residents with questions may contact Willis directly at 508-841-8643.
