SHREWSBURY — A water-body commission approved a $4,990 contract for a professional weed survey in a 5-0 roll-call vote. Members Dean, Ryan, Kenneth Apulio, Emma and Maddie voted yes on the contract with a firm named TRC, with the chair hoping to schedule the survey for "the first half of September, while there are still enough weeds to have an accurate count." Two named seats, held by Michael Piker and Kevin Carlson, were absent, along with a seat designated "Worcester Police," and one seat remained vacant. The chair said the commission would need to address filling the vacant seat before its next scheduled meeting.
