Other Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026

Shrewsbury's Form of Government Study Committee found little appetite for changing town government after a September 24 outreach forum drew just 12 of roughly 240 Town Meeting members, 11 of whom spoke in favor of keeping representative Town Meeting. A member called the response "a sobering statement, no matter how you look at it." The committee's own summer survey showed 47.6 percent support for the current system, 18.1 percent neutral and 34.3 percent opposed, a 13.3-point net approval margin. Members agreed to brief the Select Board in person before drafting formal recommendations, due under a charge the board amended December 9, 2025, running from November 2025 to May 2027.

The committee also moved its December meeting, which conflicted with a special Town Meeting date, to November 30.
