Library Adds Menopause Talk, Black History Lecture To Fall Calendar

SHREWSBURY — Shrewsbury Public Library is rounding out its fall calendar with two new offerings: a virtual lecture on Black botanical history set for August 25, and a community discussion on perimenopause and menopause set for September 8. The additions come as Massachusetts voters, including many in Shrewsbury, watched U.S. Senator Ed Markey and U.S. Representative Seth Moulton spar in their final debate before the state's Senate primary, according to a Patch report.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The library's Library Speakers Consortium series will host a virtual lecture, "When Trees Testify: Reclaiming America's Black Botanical History," on Tuesday, August 25, at 2 p.m. The talk is open to remote attendees and continues the library's ongoing speaker programming for the fall.

Separately, the library has scheduled a Community Discussion on Perimenopause and Menopause for Tuesday, September 8, at 6:03 p.m. at its 609 Main Street building. The program adds a health and wellness offering to the library's calendar alongside its regular slate of children's and maker programming.
