Form of Government Study Committee approves prior meeting minutes

Form of Government Study Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026

SHREWSBURY — The Form of Government Study Committee advanced work on a public survey and governance structure review. Chair Michael Burns oversaw approval of prior meeting minutes via voice vote, with Dadene Gonet abstaining on the January 5 minutes. The Committee refined a draft public survey on governance and discussed promotional strategies including social media, newsletters, print-outs, and in-person outreach at businesses, the Senior Center, and faith-based organizations.

Benjamin Rudolf reported that a subgroup had prioritized examination of transitioning to a unified Town Charter, requesting an updated organizational chart from Town staff and flagging the treatment of current amendments to existing legislation. The Committee discussed the risks of over-codification and scheduled a presentation on charter options for February 2.
