Shrewsbury Zoning Board approves renovation and bakery business; denies solar array. The five-member board, chaired by Maribeth Lynch, unanimously granted a special permit for Pamela Panarelli to substantially expand her 900-square-foot home at 3 Brookway Drive while maintaining its pre-existing front setback non-conformity. The board also unanimously approved a special permit for Andrew Barbash to operate AB Snacks, a home-based residential kitchen business at 18 Rockwell Drive, conditioned on a one-year review and 9 AM to 6 PM hours for pickups and deliveries.
On a 4-1 vote, the board denied Praveen Kosaraju's variance request to place a ground-mounted solar array 1.4 feet from his principal dwelling at 600 South Street, where 10 feet is required; members expressed concern about failure to use rooftop installation. Shayne Scott's variance to construct a 6.5-foot setback sunroom addition at 40 Trowbridge Lane passed unanimously.
