Zoning Board approves two 40B housing developments with conditions

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of January 12, 2026

SHREWSBURY — Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approves two Chapter 40B comprehensive permits. The Board granted permits to Quinn LLC for a 300-unit development at 104 Main Street and to CPC Land Acquisition Company LLC for a 196-unit project at 409 South Street, with Chair Maribeth Lynch noting the decisions affect public safety, infrastructure, and environmental resources. Board members expressed concerns about congestion, stormwater impacts near Lake Quinsigamond, and infrastructure strain but found both projects met applicable conditions.

The 409 South Street proposal drew particular praise for its measured design and responsive community engagement.
