Shrewsbury Trails Committee elects Steph Hess as chair while exploring regional trail expansion. The committee, which drew eight community members including Westborough resident Don Burn, heard a proposal to join a Boston-Worcester Air Line Trail feasibility study. Northborough received a $58,300 grant from the Central Mass Regional Planning Commission to study a 1.3-mile section; the proposed 12-mile corridor would extend from Framingham to Worcester along a former railroad.
Burn offered to provide matching funds if Shrewsbury pursues its own study with applications due January 31.
