Shrewsbury DEIB Committee receives $1,000 cultural grant for summer events. The committee was awarded $1,000 by the Shrewsbury Cultural Council for summer programming and unanimously approved its January 2026 minutes. A Juneteenth subcommittee, including Luis Rodriguez, is developing a workshop with Team O'Neil and the African Community Education director in Worcester (proposed dates June 15 or 22), while the full committee plans Pride at the Park on June 13 at Dean Park.

The committee is coordinating donations through Wardrobe on Wheels, engaging with the MOC shelter, considering St. Anne's as an additional partner, and pursuing a welcoming community statement for the Select Board with legal guidance from Town Manager Kevin Mizikar.
