Sewer Commission tables grease trap fine decision, schedules rate study review.

SHREWSBURY — The Board of Sewer Commissioners tabled a decision on a second-quarter grease trap pumping fine against Over the Bridge Nutrition pending additional documentation and potential conversation with the business owner. Chairman Andrew Nelson and Commissioners John Knipe and Robert Cox determined the Commission lacked sufficient detail on the owner's pumping schedule and requested 2024 records, data, and communication logs before proceeding. Water and Sewer Superintendent Timothy Maroney reported the Maple Avenue pump station was turned over to the division on March 18 with minor punch-list items remaining, and the Rolfe Avenue station expects final paving mid-April to May.
The Commission received a $325,000 annual inflow and infiltration contract for camera inspection and flow isolation work. The next meeting is scheduled for April 27, 2026, when the sewer rate study memo will be presented.
