Select Board discusses FY2027-FY2031 forecast, potential override need

SHREWSBURY — Select Board examines five-year financial forecast, identifies $2.1 million shortfall for FY2027. Chair Theresa H. Flynn and members discussed health insurance costs as the largest single expense driver and explored potential need for a future override in coordination with the School Committee and Finance Committee.

The Board outlined next steps including a community summit planned for late February or early March to gather public input and public hearings on the FY2027 budget anticipated for late March or April.
