Shrewsbury seeks $3.6M state grant for Hartford Turnpike traffic signal. The Select Board unanimously authorized Town Manager Kevin J. Mizikar to apply for the Community One Stop for Growth grant, designed to install a traffic signal and make roadway improvements at 525 Hartford Turnpike.
The project addresses congestion on a corridor with 19,000 daily vehicles, developed in partnership with GoVenture. Board member Gregory G. Richards pressed for contingency planning given low award probability; Mizikar confirmed the town could reapply in future funding cycles.
