SHREWSBURY — Planning Board approves two development decisions and recommends zoning bylaw cleanup. Chairperson Julie Holstrom and the Board voted unanimously to sign Special Permit and Site Plan Approval decisions for 308 & 312 Boston Turnpike, a 30-unit mixed-use development with 6,000 to 7,000 square feet of commercial space, and authorized a five-unit lot release at Cypress Ridge. The Board continued hearings on three major projects to May 7: a proposed bank facility at 67-77 & 87-97 Boston Turnpike, drawing drainage and construction-hour concerns from direct abutters; a mixed-use development at 525 Hartford Turnpike; and the Spagtacular supermarket and residential project at 335 Maple Avenue, which drew extensive public comment about traffic safety on Oak Street during school dismissal.
The Board unanimously recommended Article #30 to Annual Town Meeting, a bylaw amendment to remove the term "Summer Houses" and clarify Accessory Dwelling Unit language consistent with state Dover Amendment protections.
