Planning Board approves parking reduction for Boston Turnpike shopping center.

Planning Board · Meeting of January 8, 2026

SHREWSBURY — Planning Board approves shopping center parking reduction, moves forward on major developments. The Board unanimously approved a de minimis change request for IREIT Shrewsbury White City, LLC at 84-120 and 88 Boston Turnpike, reducing required parking by seven spaces for Shake Shack and Big Blue Swim School tenants. Director Christopher McGoldrick said staff found the reduction modest and consistent with existing conditions.

WCS-333 South Street, Inc. closed its public hearing for a Special Permit to operate a manufacturing enterprise and accessory warehouse at 333 South Street; staff supported the proposal. The Board continued public hearings for a Virginia K. Luke Irrevocable Trust mixed-use development at 525 Hartford Turnpike and a Spagtacular LLC commercial development at 335 Maple Avenue to February 5, 2026, following record public participation and resident concerns over traffic, schools, and infrastructure impacts.
