Parks and Cemetery Commission approves ice cream vendor, advances cemetery rules review.

SHREWSBURY — Parks and Cemetery Commission greenlights ice cream vendor for July summer event. The Commission unanimously approved Maple and Main to operate an ice cream cart at the Park and Recreation Month Tie-Dye Event on July 22 at Dean Park. Kevin Esposito directed the Commission to review current cemetery rules and identify changes for application to a new cemetery at Prospect Park.

Karl Nelson reported Community Preservation Committee approval of lighting upgrades for the Maple Avenue Recreation Area fields and an extension of funds for gravestone restoration at Mountain View Cemetery. Parks staff is conducting bidding for the Arrowwood Playground project, with bid opening scheduled for February 19.
