Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of June 23, 2026

Shrewsbury Library Board unanimously approves new policy permitting unaccompanied student library access. The board approved an amended child safety policy allowing middle schoolers in grades 5 through 8 to visit the library unaccompanied after school Monday through Thursday for up to two hours, directly responding to student concerns about prior access restrictions. On Fridays and early-release days, grades 7 and 8 may visit unaccompanied while grades 5 and 6 must be accompanied.

Julie Celularo was promoted to Library Manager and Head of Adult Services, effective July 1, with a policy review scheduled for December.
