SHREWSBURY — Lake Quinsigamond Commission elects officers and approves Veterans Ski Event. Bill Nelson was elected Chairman, Michael Paika Vice Chairman, and Mattie VandenBloom Treasurer at the January 28 meeting. The commission unanimously approved a request from the Webster Water Ski Initiative to conduct the 3rd annual Veterans Ski Event on July 7, 2026, at the Donahue Rowing Center.

Katie Liming, Lakes and Ponds Coordinator for the City of Worcester, reported that approximately 26,000 gallons of sewerage entered Flint Pond following a force main break at Route 20 and Sunderland Road in Worcester on January 1; repairs are scheduled for the first week of February.
