Lake Quinsigamond Commission approves three environmental permits.

Lake Quinsigamond Commission · Meeting of March 25, 2026

SHREWSBURY — Lake Quinsigamond Commission unanimously approves environmental permits for weed management. In a March 25 meeting, commissioners voted to approve proposals from Padgett Environmental Services and TRC Companies Inc. for a required botanist survey in Zone B, and from Solitude for herbicide treatment of Sacred Lotus in Flint Pond. The commission discussed ongoing dock damage from ice-out winds and heard that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has listed the lake as impaired by E. coli, triggering establishment of a TMDL under the Clean Water Act.

A new dock application from Phillip Mulcahey could not be formally voted on due to insufficient quorum but will be revisited at the April 29 meeting.
