Lake Quinsigamond Commission · Meeting of February 25, 2026
SHREWSBURY — Lake Quinsigamond Commission unanimously approves Rocket Regatta for August 9, 2026. The commission voted to require closure of the Corazzini Ramp during the event to enforce the no-wake zone north of Burns Bridge; the Worcester Boating Club must submit a certificate of insurance and documentation from other parties per permit requirements. Commissioner Marguerite Cormier presented public testimony requesting the board form a subcommittee to study wakeboat impacts on shoreline erosion and invasive vegetation, citing proposed state legislation from Senator Ryan Fatman on minimum water depths.
Chair Bill Nelson reported on spring permit renewals and ongoing lakewide invasive weed treatment, while the Quinsigamond Rowing Association and Lake Quinsigamond Watershed Association provided updates on water-use disputes and watershed activities.
