SHREWSBURY — Form of Government Study Committee hears Division of Local Services findings on charter structures and governance trends. Melinda Ordway presented analysis of comparable communities and noted that Shrewsbury operates under two separate acts, the Town Meeting Act and Town Manager Act, rather than a unified charter, a structure shared by few peer municipalities. The Committee's Community Outreach Subgroup reported progress on a draft resident survey assessing knowledge of town government and barriers to participation; Chair Michael Burns scheduled survey review for the January 20 meeting.
Town Manager Kevin Mizikar will present details of the Town Manager Act at the next meeting.
