Finance Committee reviews FY27 budget within expenditure caps.

Finance Committee · Meeting of February 12, 2026

SHREWSBURY — Finance Committee advances FY27 budget balanced within expenditure cap limits. Town Manager Kevin Mizikar and staff presented Fiscal Projection One, due February 17, confirming no drawdown from the Override Stabilization Fund is needed for the proposed budget despite nearly 20 departmental position requests. Two police captains and one fire prevention inspector were recommended for funding as critical public safety priorities.

A five-year forecast shows the budget balanced through FY29, when the Override Stabilization Fund will be completely depleted, prompting Committee discussion of potential timelines for another override question.
