SHREWSBURY — Finance Committee unanimously approves $32,000 reserve transfer for Fire Department vehicle. The money supplements an insurance payout to replace a Chevy Tahoe totaled in an accident along with its equipment. Director of Budget and Financial Planning Alexandria Martinez reported that initial FY27 budget submissions from departments exceeded available expenditure caps by approximately $2.5 million in the General Fund, driven by utility increases, software costs, and collective bargaining obligations.
The Committee scheduled a February 12 workshop to review submissions and long-term financial planning ahead of March public hearings.
