Shrewsbury Community Preservation Committee unanimously denies Arrowwood Park sidewalk funding. Chair Debra Mooney and six fellow committee members voted to reject Community Preservation Act funding for sidewalk repair work at the park, citing concerns about setting a precedent for CPC-funded sidewalk projects and questions about whether the public sidewalk qualified for recreational-asset funding under CPC guidelines. Committee members who visited the site disagreed on the severity of the damage, which appeared to have been caused by contractor equipment during playground installation.
The ADA-accessible entrance to the park, however, remains part of the larger Arrowwood Park project scope.
