Community Preservation Committee deems four projects eligible for funding

Shrewsbury Community Preservation Committee deems four projects eligible for community preservation funding. The committee unanimously approved eligibility for two Affordable Housing Trust programs—a rental assistance program and an affordable home repair program—plus field lighting at Maple Avenue recreation fields and design-assistance funding from the Housing Authority for Elizabeth Gardens affordable housing expansion. Vice Chair Kathleen McSweeney noted the Housing Authority's new approach, following partnership with Worcester Housing Authority and NAHRO, to first establish a nonprofit entity and complete architectural design.
All four projects will return February 2 for full funding applications.
