Committee approves 300th anniversary celebration plans

Shrewsbury 300th Anniversary Committee plans major celebrations through 2027. The committee secured $108,997 in revenue, including $33,997 from corporate sponsors and $75,000 in state and municipal funding, against $2,595.25 in current expenses. Four primary events are scheduled: a December 12 kickoff at SAC Park, a September 26, 2027 parade, December 4 fireworks at the STCA Winter Festival, and a December 11 gala location still to be finalized.

The committee unanimously approved a letter supporting Community Preservation Act funding for District #5 Schoolhouse restoration and Americans with Disabilities Act improvements. Vice Chair Nicole Torres noted that member Siva Subramaniam resigned as of March 8.
