Board of Health schedules fluoridation session, reviews disease updates

Shrewsbury Board of Health reviews opioid settlement plans and disease surveillance. Board Chair Dr. George Abraham, Emily Walker, and Karyn Rossacci unanimously approved prior February meeting minutes.

Regional Public Health Director Annette Garcia reported a well-attended community listening session in February on opioid settlement fund allocation, with the next Opioid Meeting Workgroup scheduled for April 7, 2026. The board also heard disease surveillance updates including seven flu cases in February and two confirmed measles cases in Massachusetts in March. Environmental Health Specialist McKenzie Falker reported 49 food facility inspections and the Health Department's transition to new Relavent software for inspection tracking.
